Instructions can be found in the old article [here](https://knowledge.wingtra.com/en/wingtraone-gen-ii-firmware-updates?hsLang=en).   #### Step 1: Update the Wingtra tablet app Ensure that the software version is current via the **Settings>About** page. The [previous SD card process](https://knowledge.wingtra.com/en/update-wingtra-wireless-firmware-update#optional-ray-sd-card-update) is also still available should you have issues with the OTA workflow.   --- #### Step 3: Run OTA update Once you press the **Update now** in the dialog above, this will start the OTA process. Please ensure you have the tablet in close proximity and a good connection to the drone for this process. Next, you need to temporarily disable your Wi-Fi via the settings to enable the firmware package to be copied to the RAY automatically. ![](https://knowledge.wingtra.com/hs-fs/hubfs/image-png-Sep-07-2026-06-58-56-0322-PM.png?width=430&height=202&name=image-png-Sep-07-2026-06-58-56-0322-PM.png) Once done, the **Continue** button will be available to click, and the **OTA update process will begin.** ![](https://knowledge.wingtra.com/hs-fs/hubfs/undefined-Sep-07-2026-07-00-16-2497-PM.png?width=430&height=202&name=undefined-Sep-07-2026-07-00-16-2497-PM.png) From there, the user doesn't need to do anything beyond keeping the tablet close to the drone. The process is documented in this article ([link](https://knowledge.wingtra.com/en/update-wingtraray-and-wingtra-app?hsLang=en)).   --- #### Troubleshooting RAY OTA updates It is important to keep the tablet and the drone close and connected during the update process. The following are some known issues and recommended course of action to follow: | **Issues** | **Action** | | --- | --- | | Battery too low (<10%) | Charge the tablet to ensure sufficient power during the update | | Telemetry disconnected | Reconnect the telemetry module and wait up to 60 seconds | | Drone unresponsive | Stay close to the drone and wait up to 30 seconds. If it doesn't reconnect, restart the drone and the Wingtra app and try again | | Connection taking too long | Stay close to the drone and wait up to 30 seconds. If it doesn't reconnect, restart the drone and the Wingtra app and try again | | Update failed | Repower the drone, wait for a few minutes and try again.
