Wingtra and Trimble collaboration

From drone flight to ground truth. Powered by Trimble.

Trimble native file support in WingtraCLOUD
Wingtra and Trimble are working together to make aerial surveying faster, easier, and more reliable, by reducing manual steps and improving data compatibility between systems. This integration empowers survey professionals to work more efficiently across drone and ground-based tools, especially when dealing with local coordinate systems and base station data.

What’s new: direct support for Trimble file formats

Direct use of T02/T04 base station files

Trimble base stations generate raw GNSS observation data in .T02 and .T04 formats. Previously, these files had to be converted into RINEX format before they could be used for PPK processing in the Wingtra workflow. With this integration, WingtraCLOUD now accepts .T02 and .T04 files directly.

Instead of manual conversions for every flight, you can now drag and drop the files—WingtraCLOUD handles the rest in the background. This removes the need for additional software and conversion steps, and helps ensure clean, traceable data from base station to final output.

JXL file support for coordinate systems

Survey projects often require 7-parameter transformations when working with local coordinate systems—which usually means a manual setup prone to errors.

Now, with JXL import support in WingtraCLOUD, you can skip the manual steps entirely. Just upload a .JXL file exported from Trimble Business Center, and WingtraCLOUD will automatically apply the correct coordinate system based on the file’s metadata.

Even if you’re working in published coordinate systems, this feature adds value. It ensures your WingtraCLOUD site exactly matches your TBC site—saving time and avoiding the headaches of coordinate mismatches later on.

Availability

  • These features will roll out as a free update for all customers with WingtraPRO and WingtraUnlimited tiers.
  • Availability will begin in the coming weeks and apply automatically.

How it will work

  • Surveyors will set up checkpoints and launch a flight using WingtraOne GEN II with its onboard PPK receiver

  • No need to set up a separate base station

  • After the flight, corrections will be automatically applied in Wingtra Cloud, using Trimble RTX as a reliable source.

  • This process will maintain high-accuracy georeferencing while saving time in the field and reducing potential points of failure

This upcoming solution is designed to streamline operations even further—especially for teams working in remote or high-pressure environments where time and simplicity matter.
📢 Note: This development is in progress and targeted for release in 2026
