Sites and flights - WingtraCLOUD

Learn how to create sites and flights

Flights are organized under sites. The first step when starting a new project is to create a new site.

Create a new site

  1. Click on New site under the Sites tab to create a new site.
  2. Specify a site name and search for the location.
  3. Optional: Add any relevant project files (dxf, kml, json), add checkpoints or define your base location. This can also be done later when creating the fight plan or starting the processing.
  4. Specify the coordinate system for your site.
    1. Option 1: check if your desired coordinate system is in the list of published coordinate systems. Based on the site location WingtraCLOUD automatically suggests a published coordinate system.
    2. Option 2: import a custom coordinate system (.wkt or .wkt2 file format) or select a previously saved custom coordinate system.
    3. Option 3: define a custom coordinate system. Define a new transformation by adding a minimum of 3 points in a published and your custom coordinate system.
  5. Click on Save new site. You can now start creating flights for this site.

    4. Choose the sensor (can be modified later),
    5. Assign a pilot from your organization to the flight.
