Move the a6100 camera into a new mount

Here you’ll find step-by-step instructions on how to remove the old a6100 mount from the WingtraOne GEN II, remove the camera from the old mount and place it into the new one and back into the drone.

Time required 10 min
Difficulty Easy
Equipment WingtraOne,  new mount, TX10 75 mm Torx screwdriver

The process is the same for both a6100 and Oblique a6100. The only difference is that the oblique camera mount is placed in the WingtraOne payload bay upside down, with the multiport connector on the left side, as visible in this knowledge base article.

Step-by-step instructions

Step 1. Remove the a6100 camera attached to the mount from WingtraOne GEN II

  • Power off the drone and lay it down on a flat surface, e.g., a table
  • Open the top cover
  • Unplug the universal payload connector (USB-C) by pulling the cable out

  • Use the Torx screwdriver to unscrew the four screws in the corners of the payload area
  • Pull out the camera mount assembly

💡 The screws are attached to the camera mount, so do not need to worry about losing them inside.

Step 2. Remove the a6100 from the mount

  • Remove the camera holder beam by clicking on the top button
  • After the holder beam is released, remove it from the mount

  • Lift CCU clip, which fixes the multiport connector

  • Unplug the following connectors from the camera:
    1. Multiport a6100 connector
    2. Hotshoe
    3. Dummy battery (by moving the blue switch)
  • Lift the camera out of the mount

Step 3. Place the a6100 into the new mount

  • Plug in the dummy battery before moving the camera into the mount
  • Place the a6100 camera into the mount
  • Plug in the hotshoe and multiport a6100 connector

⚠️ Make sure all cables are firmly plugged in!

  • Push down the CCU clip, which holds the multiport connector
  • Put the holder beam back, and click the button on top

Step 4. Place the a6100 attached to the new mount into WingtraOne GEN II

  • Tighten the four screws in the four corners of the payload area with the Torx screwdriver
  • Plug the USB-C universal payload connector into the drone
  • Close the top cover
  • Run a test flight—before the flight, double-check that all the cables are connected firmly, and if any issues with the camera come up, please contact Wingtra Support
