Adjust a6100 and oblique a6100 settings to default
Use these instructions to set the default a6100 camera settings that are predefined by Wingtra in case they are accidentally erased or changed.
Reset settings
- Remove the a6100 camera from the WingtraOne and the mount. For instructions on how to remove the camera please check the first 2 steps in this article.
- Make sure the switch on top is set to ON.
- Plug in the universal payload connector (USB-C) and the battery. Turn on the drone by plugging the batteries. The camera should be switched on.
- Conduct a Setting Reset (to get here, go to the menu button's suitcase symbol = 6 = Setting Reset). Select Camera Settings Reset and Initialize to erase all settings. The camera is going to repower.
In case the Camera Settings Reset is grey and cannot be selected, skip it, select immediately Initialize and click OK.
Set the settings to default
During the process do not turn off the camera or the drone!
Set date and time settings
Set the top wheel to M mode.
Click on the Fn button, and the menu will appear.
Set the Focus mode to Manual Focus (MF). Press the button in the middle of the wheel to confirm.
Navigate to ISO using the selection wheel and set to ISO AUTO.
Enter the menu by pressing the MENU button above the display
and set the settings as follows:
Open Quality Settings (camera 1 symbol) page 2/11 and set High ISO NR
to Off, and Lens Comp all values to AUTO.
Open Quality Settings (camera 1 symbol) page 5/11 and set Focus Area
on Center.
Open Quality Settings (camera 1 symbol) page 7/11 and set Face Priority in Multi Metering to Off.
Open Quality Settings (camera 1 symbol) page 9/11 and set DRO/Auto HDR to Off.
Open Quality Settings (camera 1 symbol) page 10/11 and set Focus Magnif. Time to 5 Sec.
Open Camera settings (second camera symbol) page 4/9 and set e-Front Curtain Shutter to OFF, Release w/o Lens to Enable, and Release w/o Card to Disable.
Open Network settings (globe symbol) page 1/2 and set Airplane Mode to On.
Open Setup setting (suitcase symbol) page 1/6 Volume Settings and put it to MAX (15).
Open Setup setting (suitcase symbol) page 2/6 and put Power Save Start Time to 30 min, Auto Power OFF Temperature to High.
Open Setup setting (suitcase symbol) page 4/6 USB Connection and set it to Mass Storage.
Open Setup setting (suitcase symbol) page 5/6 and select Format. Hit Enter to format the SD card.
The content of the SD card will completely be erased! Make sure you back it up prior to the formatting!
Open Setup s (suitcase symbol) page 5/6 File Number and set to Reset.
Click on Make New Folder and select REC Folder: 100MSDCF.
Once you are done, press the menu button to quit the camera settings.
Next thing to set are the image quality settings.
Shutter time
Rotate the wheel next to the display of the camera clockwise and set it to 1600.
Aperture
For the nadir cameras, turn the wheel on the top right of the camera to 4.5. Press the button in the middle of the wheel (back of the camera) to confirm.
For the oblique cameras, the aperture value is defined by rotating the ring on the lens—set it between 4 and 5.6.
Exposure composition
Press on the bottom of the selection wheel on the +/- spot and set to -0.3.
Manual focus
For the nadir cameras, turn the ring on the lens all the way to infinity just till the point where it switches to the infinity symbol ∞.
For the oblique cameras, the status bar is not displayed therefore moving the focus ring on the lens itself to infinity is enough.
Save the settings
Save the default settings on MR memory mode 2.
- Go to Image settings (Camera symbol 1) page 1/11
- Set File Format to JPEG and JPEG quality to Fine
- Go to Image settings (Camera symbol 1) page 4/11 and select Memory
- Choose mode 2 and press the round button in the middle of the menu dial to confirm
Adjust additional settings on MR memory mode 3
- Go to Image settings (Camera symbol 1) page 1/11
- Set File Format to JPEG and JPEG quality to Extra-fine
- Go to Image settings (Camera symbol 1) page 4/11 and select Memory
- Choose mode 3 and press the round button in the middle of the menu dial to confirm
Adjust additional settings on MR memory mode 1 for raw image quality
- Go to Image settings (Camera symbol 1) page 1/11
- Set File Format to JPEG+RAW and JPEG quality to Standard
- Go to Image settings (Camera symbol 1) page 4/11 and select Memory
- Choose mode 1 and press the round button in the middle of the menu dial to confirm
Once you are done, make sure the settings are saved permanently. To do so, do the following:
- Turn off camera by moving the switch to the OFF position, and let it off for at least 10 seconds
- Turn on the camera by moving the switch to ON position
- Move the top wheel to MR mode
- Choose the settings on mode 2
- Turn the on/off wheel again to OFF position wait 10 seconds
- Turn it to on again
- Your settings are stored and the camera is set to default mode (2)
Put the camera into the mount, and put it all together into the drone. For how to do so, check here.
After the drone is powered for the first time, the following message will appear. Tick Don’t show this again and hit OK.
In case you are unable to reach the ON/OFF switch while the camera is within the mount, pull it out. Make sure both the dummy battery and the multiport connector are plugged into the camera.
Turn off the camera for 10 s, by moving the ON/OFF switch, power off the drone afterward.
Turn on the camera, and turn the drone back on. The message should not appear, the camera will enter the mass storage mode. Return the camera back into the mount and you are ready to go!
